In between writing projects, I’m available for Author Talks and Writing Workshops.
Author Talks – Writing historical fiction for teens – inspiration, research and writing process – accompanied by Powerpoint presentation of historical photos and one or two readings.
Writing Workshops – how to develop story, characters, setting, turning points etc
Editing Workshops – review of story, characters, setting etc and line editing
Writing exercises are included in both workshops with positive feedback to students
My Author Talks are suitable for ages 10+ and the Workshops are suitable for Years 5 to 9, but can be adapted for higher grades and adults. As well as being a published author, I have Secondary English teaching qualifications and have had considerable experience giving author talks and running writing workshops in schools, public libraries, bookshops and other venues.
