Just got back from recording our new album “Into the New” at A Sharp Recording Studio in Sydney. Many thanks to Nick, our Sound Engineer / Bass guitarist and to Kristos, our drummer on the album. Over seven days we recorded nine songs, which Nick will be mixing and mastering at Kiln Studios over the next few days.
Luke and I were inspired to write the songs after our four-month road trip in 2022 across the Nullabor to Western Australia, up to the Kimberley, across to Northern Territory and down through the Red Centre. Some of the songs for example, “Back to the Bush” and “Red Dirt Rodeo” leave no doubt that this is a country music album. Other songs, such as “Too Far Away from Me” and “Into the New” are more personal. There is also a bush ballad, “Ballad of Jim Darcy”, and a song about Elvis called “You Got the Moves”.
This is Studio8’s first album and it won’t be our last. We’ll keep you posted on this blog and on social media as to when the “Into the New” album will be released.
